founding story

Hi! I'm Sabrina. I appreciate the time you are taking to learn more about the work we do. I'd like to tell you a bit about why I started CTP.
I never set out to build a recruiting firm. In grade school I was certain I would become a pediatrician. By high school, I had shifted to forensic pathology, convinced I wanted to help solve crimes. I was a Pathology major when I first walked into college. None of that is where I ended up. What redirected me was not a class nor a mentor nor a plan. It was a morning in September 2001. Everything I have done since then has pointed back to that day in some way, and I have come to believe that is not an accident.

On September 11, 2001, I was at my desk on the 89th floor of the World Trade Center, going through my morning routine, making coffee, checking voicemail, the start of an ordinary day. Within minutes, there was a huge explosion. Ceiling tiles fell. Cabinets were knocked over, blocking the emergency exit. The office and hallways filled with smoke and fire. Our nearest stairwell exit door was blown shut. My colleagues and I were still on the 89th floor during the second explosion. I thought we were trapped and would burn right there.
Thanks to construction superintendent Pablo Ortiz and construction manager Frank De Martini, who led us and many others toward a safe exit, we made it to the stairs. Nearly ninety minutes later, after navigating flooded floors, fire, dead ends, and darkened stairwells, my colleagues and I reached the lobby. After running for about a block, we heard a sound none of us will ever forget; the South Tower coming down. We ran into a Duane Reade. Unbelievably, we made it.
That day gave me a clear understanding that behind every job title is a human being. And when that person is in the right role, doing work they believe in, it changes what they are capable of achieving.
The years that followed took me from volunteering in an orphanage in India to working inside shelters, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations across the country. As a first-generation Latina and the first in my family to graduate from college, I know firsthand what becomes possible when the right support is in place, and what is lost when it is not. At every stop, I saw the same thing: when people are placed in the right role and genuinely supported, entire communities can change.
That is why Cause Talent Partners exists. I know what it means to need the right people around you when everything is hard. I bring that understanding to every search.
